About Me
I am a St Leonards based Fine Artist and Content Creative with a BA (Hons) in Fine Art Painting from Camberwell College of Arts. Working primarily on canvas and paper, my work is rooted in nostalgia, tone and atmosphere which are themes I bring into digital storytelling. Alongside my studio work I’ve collaborated with Hastings Art Foundation, Hypha Studios and Element Creatives on several arts based and creative content projects. In 2020 Co-Founded and ran BIG RAT .STUDIO, a digital arts platform where I led social media and produced interactive digital art exhibitions. I’m excited by the chance to be a part of building something from the ground up and Crafted’s focus on curated experiences and visual identity really speaks to me. With a background in both traditional and digital spaces, I bring a creative, detail-driven perspective to content creation and brand storytelling.

Hands
While managing the BIG RAT .STUDIO Instagram account, one of our main focuses was on the behind the scenes content of making the Tiny Gallery exhibitions. This culminated in a series of photographs of each install that focused on the intimate process of setting up each show. The images specifically highlighted the hands of the exhibiting artists as they hung their work, emphasizing the care, craftsmanship, and personal touch involved in each installation. This series not only showcased the process but also helped foster a deeper connection between our audience and the artists.
BIG RAT .STUDIO Exhibition Posters
These posters were created in close collaboration with exhibiting artists during my time running BIG RAT .STUDIO. The platform’s ethos celebrated a raw, DIY aesthetic, and we aimed for each design to reflect that spirit while staying true to the individual artist’s voice. Given the diversity of practices among the artists, it was important that each poster felt distinct—tailored to the tone, texture, and energy of the work being shown. This approach made design a key part of the curatorial process, not just a promotional tool.

Writing & Press Releases
Karolina Dworska
Lazy
10th August- 10th September 2021
“The lazy body is unpoised, relaxed; it flops without concern of the outside world or its endless responsibilities.”
LAZY is an exhibition of works by London based artist Karolina Dworska. Working predominantly in textile, she returns to sculpture as a medium to create the Lazy installation in collaboration with Big Rat Studio. She uses the motif of teeth and the mutated figure to hint at the dreamscape.
b. 1997, Rzeszów, Poland
Karolina is a 202 graduate from Goldsmiths and one of Bloomberg’s 2021 New Contemporaries.
Her work delves into the subject matter of the in-between; the grey area between dream and reality, and fantasy spaces, balancing precariously between definitions. She also explores her migrant background within her work, having immigrated to the UK as a child from Bieszczady, Poland. Her multidisciplinary practice focuses on dreamscapes, in which things are not quite right, undefined and uncomfortable, explored through a variety of sculptural and textile mediums.
I bring a versatile writing style tailored to both fast-paced social media environments and more formal communications like press releases. My social media copy is concise, engaging, and aligned with each platform’s tone, whether it’s crafting compelling captions, call-to-actions, or informative posts. I’ve also written press releases that balance clarity with creativity, advertising and engaging an audience with Art Exhibitions.
Studio Practice
My studio practice is centered around the exploration of nostalgia, memory, and the passage of time. I primarily work on canvas and board, creating abstract compositions that evoke feelings of personal reflection and emotional connection. Through layered textures and vibrant color palettes, I aim to capture fleeting moments and the emotional residue left behind by our experiences.
I often experiment with different techniques, blending bold brushstrokes with delicate washes of color to create depth and movement. My work is influenced by both personal memories and broader cultural histories, and I enjoy the process of translating these ideas into visually compelling pieces that resonate on a universal level.
While my practice is largely solitary, I am constantly inspired by collaborative experiences, which I believe add new perspectives to my work. I’m always exploring new methods, whether it’s in the physicality of the paint itself or the emotional connections I seek to evoke in the viewer.
